Dispatch 11: Summit Push

Brian called at 9:00 pm PST Wednesday.  After spending one night at camp 3 and two nights at camp 4, he and Constantine set out for the summit at midnight on May 23.  The route to the Lhotse summit is cold, steep and grueling.  Making the push without oxygen, as both men did, compounds such challenges.  Approximately 250 meters from the summit Brian listened to his body and turned around.   He is going to spend two days at camp 2 getting some R&R.  After which he’ll move up the mountain to make another summit push, with O’s, on May 26.  Keep the prayers and good vibes coming.

    Brian,
Sweet effort with no O’s man!!! Keep eating, get some rest and know we’re all praying for you. You will dominate when it’s your time just like you always do. Climb on and stay safe!

    Brian,

“Discretion is the better part of Valor”. Good to hear that you are listening to your body and doing things right. Can’t wait to hear from you when you get back. I am sure that you will conquer this peak just as you have done the others when the time is right.

    Raw!

    Adam
